So at the fair the wirst band cost 27, plus more money for admission? on free kids friday do the kids pay at all?

  2. Jay says

Hi, i know last year they did the 4 nonperishable event too. But last year they let us go after 5pm and still allowed us to get in for free and get on rides for a dollar each. Why did it change? And how much is it after 5pm for entry and each ride?

    • says

You’d have to ask the organizers, but it might be that someone at the gate made a judgment call and let you in last year after 5pm, even though that wasn’t advertised. The ticket prices are posted on the fair’s website (you can follow the link in the post above).

  3. Jay says

When it says nonperishable items does that mean bags of pasta as well are accepted or just canned food items

  4. Veronica says

Does everyone in your party get free admission with 4-non perishable items or does each person need to bring 4? I will have at least two kids under 11 and two under 15 with me.

    • says

For the food drive, which is tomorrow (6/25), one person gets in free for every donation of 4 nonperishable food items. Kids under 6 always get in free. For ages 6 – 8 the price is $8.

  6. Christina Lasson says

Hi, I was wondering if the fair has any discount tickets for the people with disabilities? Please get back to me.

    • says

Hi Christina — The fair hasn’t posted any discount ticket for people with disabilities on their website. FYI: The concert amphitheater has wheelchair and scooter access parking (and they also rent wheelchairs and scooters at the fair).

    • says

Don’t know if anyone has found free parking nearby, but the fair website says: “$10 General Parking (Gate 8 & Gate 12 – Valley Ave), $15 Preferred Parking (Gate 8), $20 VIP Parking (Pleasanton Ave).”

I know a little about the fair grounds because I go every year — by car before, now by bus / BART. If you want free parking, park in town a little ways away, like 10 – 20 minunte walk, which is free. The closer to fair grounds you park, the more you will have to pay. A little farther away you may have good luck and find free parking near homes, hotels, bars. Good luck and have fun …

I don’t see $2 Tuesdays on the Alameda county fair website. I was planning on taking 6 kids Tuesday but there is no deal that I can see. Help, anyone?

    • says

Mike — On the Alameda County Fair website, look for the green sidebar on the right side of the page. Click on “Promotions & Ticket Locations.” You’ll see $2 Tuesdays first on the list of promotions.

    • says

Gina — I didn’t see it on the list of more than a dozen contests this year. If you want to check, go to the Alameda County Fair website (or follow the link in my post), and click on “Contests & Competitions” on the orange navbar at the top of the page.
