Museums in Boston are a great place to spend a few hours in the city. Several museums offer free admission on certain days. Here’s a roundup of free museum days in Boston, followed by some info on other museums, including a few ways to get discount tickets on other days.   • Boston Children’s Museum — 308 Congress St, Boston, MA 02210. Located on Children’s Wharf. Offers $1 admission – Friday nights from 5pm-9pm. FREE admission for children 12 and under Mon-Thu, Sat 10am-5pm, Fri 10am-9pm. Discounted parking info on museum website.
  • Boston University Art Gallery {Always Free} — 855 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
  • Davis Museum and Cultural Center {Always Free} — 106 Central St, Wellesley, MA 02481. Located at Wellesley College. Savvy tip: There is a café, Collins Café, on campus, open from 10am-5pm.
  • Fuller Craft Museum — 455 Oak St, Brockton, MA 02301. FREE for children under 12. Free admission for active-duty military personnel and their families during the summer months.
  • Institute of Contemporary Art {Free Thurs. nights 5-9pm} {Discounts: Go Boston & Go Select} — 100 Northern Ave, Boston, MA. Free for families (up to 2 adults with children 12 and under) on the last Saturday of every month (except December). Free tours on Thursdays (check schedule). Youths 17 and younger get in free. Military get free admission from Memorial Day through Labor Day via the Blue Star Museums program.
  • Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum — 280 The Fenway, Boston, MA 02115. Free admission to Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for youths 18 and under. Free for people named Isabella. Free admission on your birthday. Get $2 off at the door if you visit again within. Get $2 off at the door when you wear Red Sox gear. College students get free admission via participating universities, or can get $5 admission with current college ID. Always free admission for military families (with ID). Boston Public Library members can get a pass for $5 with advance reservations.(up to 4 people on weekdays, 2 people on weekends and holidays).   • Museum of Fine Arts Boston {Various Free Days} {Discounts with Go Select, Go Boston, Boston CityPASS} — Avenue of the Arts, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115. Check with the museum for their current free admission days schedule. Free admission is also available for College Students from participating universities. If you have a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch card, you can get in free on the first full weekend of every month via the Museums on Us program. (only the cardholder gets in free). Massachusetts Teachers can get $2 off admission with MTA card. Via the Blue Star Musuems program, active-duty military, National Guard, and reserve military and their families from get in free from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Boston Public Library program offers $10 tickets for up to two people, but check with the library and reserve in advance. Youths 7-17 get free admission on weekdays after 3pm, weekends, and Boston public school holidays. Kids under 7 always get in free.
