Here’s our list of fun East Bay Fourth of July fireworks, parades, and family celebrations. This is not a complete  list of events, so if we missed one you love, tell us about it in the comments box below. Note: I post these as a courtesy only. Make sure you check the event websites before you head out.


Alameda: County Fair 4th of July Fireworks — July 4, 2014. Fireworks Spectacular, at 9:45pm, set to music and a cool video tribute to Alameda County. Best viewing at the Grandstand area. Special 4th of July Blues Festival, 1pm-9pm.

Alameda: 4th of July Parade – July 4, 2014. Parade starts at 10am along Park St, Otis Dr, Grand Ave, Central Ave, and Lincoln Ave.

Benicia: Freedom Festival Torchlight Parade, Picnic in the Park, Fireworks – Benicia’s Independence Day parade starts at 6:30pm on July 3, 2014 and stretches along First Street and includes dancers, floats, clowns, and entertainment. On July 4, 2014 from 12-7pm Benicia’s City Park is filled with arts and crafts, delicious hot food, live entertainment and children’s activities. Fireworks start about 9pm at the foot of First St.

Berkeley: 4th of July Celebration – July 4, 2014. Noon to 10pm at Berkeley Marina. Live entertainment from noon until 9:30pm on the main stage including music and dancers. Jugglers and musicians on the Buddy Club Stage in Shorebird Park. Crafts, yummy food, free dragon boat rowing from 12-5pm, massages, carnival rides, an inflatable park, a bungee trampoline, pony rides, giant slides and bubble ball rides. Fireworks at 9:30pm at the end of Berkeley Pier.

Concord: 4th of July Parade and Festival – July 4, 2014. 5K/Kids Run at 8am. Festival from 4pm-10pm at Mt Diablo High School. Festival includes a hometown picnic, kids carnival, food booths, vendors, and live entertainment. Fireworks at 9pm.

Danville: July 4th Parade – July 4, 2014. Parade starts at 9am and runs from the corner of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue, continues down Hartz and San Ramon Valley Boulevard and ends at the corner of San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Sycamore Valley Road.

Fairfield: Independence Day Parade – July 4, 2014. Pancake breakfast 8-11am at the Fairfield Moose Lodge, 623 Taylor St. Parade starts at 10am in downtown Fairfield along Texas St from Taylor to Union.

El Cerrito: worldOne Fourth of July Festival – July 4, 2014 at Cerrito Vista Park. Event features live music, food and drinks, El Cerrito Art Assoc. Art Show & Sale, arts & crafts vendors and booths by local business and service groups.

Fremont: 4th of July Parade – July 4, 2014. Parade starts at 10am. Starting at the Library, the parade will head west and turn right onto Paseo Padre continuing down to Capitol, where it will turn left and pass the Grandstand and VIP seating and then disperse after Liberty.

Martinez: Hometown 4th of July Parade – July 4, 2014. Pancake breakfast at Roxx on Main, 627 Main St, 8-10am. Flag Raising Ceremony Veterans Memorial Bldg, 930 Ward St, 9-9:15am. Parade at 10am on Main St begins at Court St and ends at Alhambra Ave.

Oakland: July 4th Family Fun Festival at Jack London Square – July 4, 2014. 11am-4pm. Celebrate July 4th with the entire family in a celebration of family fun and entertainment!

Orinda: 4th of July Parade and Celebration – July 4, 2014. Roadrunner’s Pancake Breakfast at the Community Center 7:30-10am; flag raising ceremony in front of the Community Center at 7:55am; parade starts at 10am; activities in the park 11:30am-1:30pm.

San Ramon: Star-Spangled Spectacular – July 4, 2014. 4:30-7:30pm at San Ramon Central Park, 12501 Alcosta Blvd. Celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends at a free concert in the park featuring patriotic music played by the San Ramon Symphonic Band followed by David Martin’s House Party. The evening will also include recognition of local veterans and active duty military. Bring your friends, family, a picnic and some lawn chairs and enjoy a perfect summer evening in Central Park.

Suisun City: Independence Day Spectacular – July 4, 2014. Suisun City Waterfront District. 11am-10:30pm. Performers include Alive Music Orchestra, Motion Dynamics, The Heartbeat Band, Danc-Sing Stars Studio, Chapkis Dance, Mixed Nuts, and more. Fireworks start at 9:15pm. Mixed Nuts perform again after the fireworks.

Vacaville: 4th of July Concert and Fireworks – July 4, 2014. Andrews Park gates open at 5pm. Live music starts at 6:30pm featuring Travelin’ Band – A Tribute to Credence Clearwater Revival. Lots of food and craft vendors on site. Fireworks at dark.
