Here’s the updated roundup of Houston area Fourth of July events, including fireworks, parades and festivals. You have plenty of family fun to choose from, like the always popular Freedom Over Texas, the Bayou Bend 4th of July Celebration, the Houston Symphony’s Star-Spangled Salute, and more.
4th of July Events: Houston Area
Bellaire: July 4th Parade & Festival – July 4. Bellaire, TX. Parade headed by a children’s’ parade begins at 9:30am at the Bellaire Triangle and travels down Bellaire Blvd and S Rice Ave. Festival begins after the parade. Enjoy live entertainment, carnival games, food, a mini ferris wheel, petting zoo, moon jumps, dunk tank, and more.
Friendswood: Independence Day Celebration – July 4. Friendswood, TX. Grand Parade at 10am down Friendswood Dr will conclude at Stevenson Park where there will be booths, rides, games, food, and live entertainment until 3:30pm. Evening program at Centennial Park begins at 7:30pm with live entertainment by Molly and The Ringwalds. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:20pm. Public parking will not be available. Spectators must ride the free shuttle service from Clear Brook High School or Friendswood High School to gain admittance to the park.
Galveston: 4th of July Parade & Fireworks – July 4. Galveston, TX. Parade on Seawall Blvd at 7:45pm. Fireworks at 37th & Seawall at 9:15pm.
Houston: Freedom Over Texas – July 4. Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston, TX. This year’s festivities include the Southwest Airlines Sky Stage, featuring vintage aircraft flyovers; the Walmart All-American Kids Zone, a children’s entertainment area with a stage featuring entertainment for young and old, alike; KBR Liberty Park brings military assets such as tanks and helicopters to the event along with all five branches of the military; the all new Bud Light Lime-A-Rita Beach Bash, featuring the All-American Beer Garden and a rockin’ good time; and the Dr Pepper One of a Kind Zone, featuring all four Houston professional sports team set-ups, music, food, and a cooling area. The event culminates with a Texas size concert featuring a national recording artist and one of the largest fireworks displays in the USA sponsored by Nation Waste. Kids 5 and under get in free.
Houston: Bayou Bend 4th of July Celebration – July 4. Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, 6003 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX. The annual 4th of July blowout offers up an extravaganza of Americana: performers, crafts, activities, refreshments, and more. A reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by birthday cake, starts at about 3pm on the Diana Terrace (north side) of the house. Don’t forget to sign the giant Declaration of Independence before you leave.
Houston: Symphony’s Star-Spangled Salute – July 4. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX at 8:30pm. Enjoy an evening with Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski and the Houston Symphony listening to patriotic, toe-tapping American music. Make sure to stay until the end for the 1812 Overture—complete with booming cannons! This celebration concludes with a magnificent display of fireworks provided by Miller Theatre Advisory Board. This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available from 10:30am-1pm on July 4 (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office.
Katy: Freedom Celebration – July 4. Katy Mills Mall in Katy, TX. Fireworks are launched at 9pm between the east side of the mall and Katy Fort Bend Rd.
Katy: LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch July 4th Big Backyard Barbecue – July 4. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch in Katy, TX, 5:30-9:45pm. Kid’s Bike Parade at LaCenterra Courtyard at 4pm. The main event starts at 5:30 p.m. with a live musical performance in the courtyard, interactive Kids Zone located in Central Green and food for purchase. The event concludes with an extraordinary fireworks display.
Kemah: 2014 Fourth of July Celebration – July 4. Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, TX. Live music and a patriotic fireworks show over Galveston Bay.
Kingwood: July 4th Festival – July 4. Kingwood, TX. Live music by Harmony Groove, craft and food booths, jumping castles, bungee jump, fireworks at dusk.
Missouri City: 4th of July Celebration – July 4. Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City, TX. Free activities including moonwalks, a rockwall, mechanical bulls, rides, human hamster balls, a trackless train and more! The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15pm. Parking will be available at Thurgood Marshall High School next to Buffalo Run Park.
Nassau: July 4th Celebration – July 4. Nassau, TX. City-wide celebration all day long and will include a parade and fireworks.
Pasadena: 4th Fest – July 4. Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds in Pasadena, TX. Live music, a car show, Kidzone, new attractions, USMC Toys for Tots BBQ Cook-off, games, prizes, vendors, water balloon war zone, sports and other entertainment. Fireworks to conclude the night.
Pearland: Celebration of Freedom – July 4. Pearland High School Football Stadium in Pearland, TX. FW military salute will begin the evening’s entertainment, followed by a performance of the national anthem by our Let Freedom Sing talent search winner. Then sit back, relax and sing along to the sounds of the Drywater Band until sundown, performing live from the H-E-B Entertainment Stage! At 9pm, enjoy a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display from your seat inside the stadium. Food is available for purchase or you can bring your own.
Rosenberg: Family 4th Independence Day Celebration – July 4. Seabourne Creek Nature Park in Rosenberg, TX. Event includes a carnival area for the kids, horse-drawn wagon rides through the park, food vendors, live musical entertainment from the main stage, and a spectacular fireworks show to end the evening.
Seabrook: July 4th Celebration & Kids’ Parade – July 4. Kids’ Parade at 10am at Rex Meador Park in Seabrook, TX. Stick around after the parade for more fun and games including face painting and a moonwalk. Refreshments and hot dogs will also be available.
Sugar Land: Star Spangled Celebration – July 4. Constellation Field in Sugar Land, TX. Join Swatson and Moe with a Skeeter’s apple pie in the outfield and enjoy a variety of entertainment. The whole family can participate in the various children’s games and activities planned throughout the night. Fireworks finale to end the night. Free tickets will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
The Woodlands: 4th of July Parade & Celebration – July 3-4. Various events and locations in The Woodlands, TX:
- Star Spangled Salute – July 3, 6:30-8pm. Patriotic concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
- Parade – July 4, 9am starting at Grogan’s Mill Rd and Lake Woodlands Dr
- Splash Day – July 4, free swimming at all community pools 10am-8pm with activities 12-4pm
- Concert in the Park – July 4, 5-9pm. Free country and Americana concert at Northshore Park. Fireworks after the concert.
- Red, Hot & Blue Festival – July 4, 6pm in Town Green Park & The Waterway Square. Live music on two stages, strolling entertainers, the hot dog and watermelon eating contests and much more. Fireworks cap off the night.
- Fireworks Extravaganza – July 4, in The Woodlands Town Center. Fireworks launch at dusk.
Tomball: July 4th Street Party & Fireworks – July 4. Business Hwy 249 north of FM 2920 in Tomball, TX. Celebrate Independence Day with a giant street party, live music, food, games, and fireworks.
