Houston Museum Free Days offer one of the savviest ways to spend time in Houston. The city has a vibrant Museum District located near Hermann Park in cental Houston. Here’s an updated list of the free days with a few discounts thrown in just for fun.

Houston Free Days

Tuesday Free Admission:

  • Houston Zoo - Free the first Tuesday of the month, 2pm – closing (6/7pm).

Thursday Free Admission:

  • Children’s Museum — Free Thursday 5pm – 8pm
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science - Free Thursday 3pm – 6pm
  • John C. Freeman Weather Museum – Free Thursday 12pm – 4pm

  • The Health Museum – Free Thursday 2pm – 5pm

Saturday/ Sunday Free Admission:

  • Museum of Fine Arts – Free the first Saturday and Sunday of the month for BofA cardholders – Sat 10am – 7pm, Sun 12:15pm – 7pm.
  • Children’s Museum of Houston – Free the first Sunday of the month – 12pm – 6pm.
