The 2012 Marin Art Festival presents not only art, but a variety of entertainment and delicious food. The festival costs $10 at the gate, but you can usually find coupons to get $2 off, or a 2 for 1 coupon to get in for $5.
Each day of the festival starts off with Taiko drumming. The Marin Dance Showcase Stage features dance styles from Hula to Hip Hop. And Bay Area bands will perform, headlined in 2011 by Mark Karan on Saturday and Houston Jones on Sunday.
Along with the usual festival food, the event includes the Marin Oyster Fest, with Drakes Bay Oysters, featuring oysters on the half shell and BBQ oysters with special sauce. The kids will enjoy hands-on art projects, stilt walkers, face painting, and more.
“The Marin Art Festival is our county’s lawn party for the arts and one of the most beautiful out door art festivals in the nation. The event now in its 15th year, features work from over 200 artists from across the globe who are eager to share their work and discuss their creative process.”
