The annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival (every year in March) features kite making, arts and crafts, food and entertainment, and of course – kite flying. This is a free day of festivities including carnival rides, stunt kite demos, food and entertainment along with kite making (free for all children — all materials are supplied), decorating and a flying contest, put on by the Kiwanis Club. The festival takes place at Dusty Rhodes Park.
Prizes will be awarded for the the best decorated kites. You can submit any kite you make, it doesn’t have to be made at the festival.
