This year’s San Rafael Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland is a free event that will take place the two days after Thanksgiving (November 23 – 24, 2012). The parade is one of the largest holiday parades in the Bay Area. The San Rafael 33rd Annual Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland features live entertainment, shopping opportunities at the Holiday Marketplace, children’s activities, including free snow sledding.
“Following the Parade, Santa, Ms. Claus and other costumed characters arrive with the Mayor of San Rafael to the center of town in the City Plaza to light the official Holiday Tree. Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Santa and friends are available for a meet and greet with the kids.”

WHEN: November 23-24, 2012.
- Friday, November 23, 2012. Snow Sledding Noon to 4:30pm & 6pm to 8pm. Marketplace 2pm to 8pm. Parade at 5:30pm.
- Saturday, November 24, 2012, Snow & Kids’ activities 9am to Noon.
WHERE: Downtown San Rafael, CA. Parade down Fourth Street (B Street to Lootens).
SAVVY TIP: The San Rafael free parking program will run from Thanksgiving Day through December 31, 2012. San Rafael downtown merchants will provide free 3 hour parking validations redeemable in the two City garages located on 3rd and A and 3rd and C Streets. The West End Village parking meters in the lot located at 1550 4th Street will also provide three hours free parking.
