Seattle 4th of July

Here’s our list of free Seattle, Washington area 4th of July fireworks, parades, and celebrations, from Aberdeen to Westport. Popular picks include the Wallingford Family Parade & Festival in Seattle, Coulee Dam Festival of America, Grand Old Fourth of July in Bainbridge, and the annual Frontier Days July 4th Celebration in Arlington WA, just for starters. Note: I post these as a courtesy only. Seattle Fourth of July Events

Aberdeen: 4th of July Splash Festival – July 4, 2014, 12pm at the Morrison Riverfront Park in Aberdeen, WA. Event features live music, family entertainers, free inflatable rides and games, and lots of food and craft vendors. Fireworks at 10pm.

Anacortes: July 4th Celebration – July 4, 2014, 10am-11pm in Anacortes, WA. Town photo at 10:00 am, 5th & Commercial.  Parade at 11am starting at 3rd & Commercial. Patriotic program at Causland Park. Fireworks over Fidalgo Bay at dusk.

Arlington: Frontier Days July 4th Celebration – July 4, 2014, 7am-9pm in Arlington, WA. Pancake Breakfast at Haller Park 7-10am, Kiwanis Auctions at Haller Park 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am, Old Fashioned 4th at noon at Legion Park, Kiddies Parade 4:30pm and Grand Parade 5pm on Olympic Ave, Duck Dash at Haller Park 7:30pm, Fireworks at Boys & Girls Club 9pm.

Auburn: 4th of July Festival – July 4, 2014, 11am-4pm at Les Gove Park in Auburn, WA. Free activities include the kids’ bike parade at noon, bocce, basketball, on-site gaming truck, museum entry and activities, face painting, spray park, the Discovery Playground and a 5 & Under Indoor Playground.$5 wristband for unlimited rides.

Bainbridge: Grand Old Fourth of July – July 4, 2014 in Bainbridge, WA. Street fair in the Town & Country parking lot 9am-5pm. Parade begins at 1pm. There will also be a Classic Car Show. Music and entertainment will be at the Town & Country parking lot stage and Watefront Park. Fireworks at approximately dusk over Eagle Harbor.

Bellevue: Family Fourth – July 4, 2014 at Downtown Park in Bellevue, WA, 2pm. The largest 4th of July celebration on the Eastside will take place in Bellevue Downtown Park where families and friends can enjoy food, games, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show. Fireworks at 10:05pm.

Burien: Independence Day Parade — July 4 at 3pm at Burien, Downtown Burien, WA. Free. Parade route runs through the streets of downtown Burien and will last around two hours. Expect the usual floats, marching bands, drill teams, clowns, antique cars, novelty and equestrian antics.

Carnation: 4th of July Celebration – July 3-4, 2014 in Carnation WA. Various events and locations…

  • July 3 – Sno-Valley Sr’s Spaghetti Dinner 5-7pm at the Senior Center Downtown on Stephens Ave
  • July 4 – Pancake breakfast, 8-11am, Tolt Congregational Church; 5k Run for the Pies, 8:30am, start/finish at corner of Tolt and Commercial St; Sno-Valley’s Strawberry Shortcake, 10am-2pm, Sr Center Downtown on Stephens Ave; Kiddie Parade, 10:30am, Main St; Grand Parade, 11am, Main St; Just Moo It! 3 on 3 basketball after the parade, former BofA parking lot; Vendor Village & bouncy toys all day at Tolt Commons Park; Cascade Community Theater presents “Shrewd”, 3pm at Tolt McDonald Park; Beer Garden 4-10pm, Music 5-8pm; Fireworks at 10pm.

Coulee: Coulee Dam Festival of America – July 4-5, 2014 at Grand Coulee Dam in Coulee Dam, WA. Vendors in the Park with entertainment, arts and crafts, and food; laser light show at 10:35pm. Fireworks after laser light show on July 4.  The fireworks are usually voted “Best of Show” for Washington State. Takes place at the lower park next to the Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center. The fireworks display is launched off the top of the Dam, right after the laser show.

Des Moines WA Fireworks Seattle AreaDes Moines: Fireworks Over Des Moines “Fire in the Sky” – July 4, 2014. Festivities will take place all day with a ticketed concert in the Beach Park. Food vendors, beer garden, root beer garden for kids.  Fireworks start at dusk, around 10:15pm over the historic Des Moines waterfront ($1 donation is suggested). Bring yor family, lawn chairs and blankets. The Des Moines Community BBQ – Smoke on the Water, is July 3, 2014, 60pm – 8pm.

Edmonds: Edmonds Kind of Fourth – July 4, 2014 in Edmonds, WA. 5K Fun Run at 10am. Children’s Parade at 11:30am. Main Parade at 12pm. Firefighters Waterball Competition at City Park, 2:30pm. Food vendors and evening entertainment at Civic Stadium, 7:30pm. Fireworks at 10pm.

Everett: July 4th Colors of Everett – July 4, 2014 in Everett, WA. Yankee Doodle Dash at 8:30am at Everett Family YMCA. Fun in the Sun Street Fair on Pacific Ave and Wetmore Ave noon to 3pm. Colors of Freedom Parade featuring marching bands, dance and drill teams, giant puppets, stilt walkers, clowns, and more at 11am on Colby and Wetmore Ave. Colors of Freedom Festival from 1-11pm on the grassy bluff overlooking Port Gardner Bay. Festival includes free kids’ activities, a food fair, and live music. Fireworks at 10:20pm over Port Gardner Bay. Viewing areas are at Legion Park, 145 Alverson Blvd and Grand Avenue Park, 1800 Grand Ave.

Kent: Fourth of July Splash – July 4, 2014, 12-11pm at Lake Meridian Park in Kent, WA. Activities from 12-5pm include wooden toy boat building, bouncy houses, T-bird puck and shoot, Republic Services recycling activity, food booths, community showcase highlighting local talent, old fashioned games, pie eating contest, live entertainment, and more. Fireworks at 10pm.

Kingston: 4th of July Celebration – Tiny Town at Kola Kole Park in Kingston, WA, July 3-4, 2014 features daily activities from 10am-5pm, Parade on July 4th 12:15pm. Musical Festival and Fireworks at Mike Wallace Park on July 4, 2014.

Kirkland: 4th of July Celebration – July 4, 2014 in Kirkland, WA. Children’s Parade at 11:30am begins at Market & Central. Child’s decorating event begins at 10am at the Marina Park Pavilion. Old Fashioned Downtown Parade at noon at Market & Central. 1pm-10:30pm festivities in Marina Park. Music in the Park from 5-10pm. Fireworks start at 10:15pm.

Long Beach: Independence Day Fireworks on the Beach – July 4, 2014 in front of the Long Beach Boardwalk in Long Beach, WA. Fireworks all along the beach at dusk, approximately 9:30.

Manson: Big Show – July 4, 2014. 10:15pm-11:15pm at Manson Bay Marina in Manson, WA. Fireworks begin at 10:15pm.

Newcastle: Fourth at the Lake Celebration – July 4, 2014 at 6pm at Lake Boren Park Southeast 84th Ave and Coal Creek Pkwy Southeast, Newcastle, WA. Fun and food start at 6pm, live music at 8pm. Fireworks start at 10pm.

Oak Harbor: Fourth Oh July – July 4, 2014, 11am-10:30pm at Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor, WA. Davis Amusement Carnival at 11am, vendor marketplace 11am-6pm, Grand Parade at 11am, fireworks at 10:30pm.

Port Angeles: Fourth of July Celebration – July 4, 2014 in Port Angeles, WA. Parade at 6pm starts down Lincoln St, turns on First St and ends at Valley St. Live music at the City Pier at 7pm. Fireworks launch from the Francis Street Park at 10pm. Best viewing areas are from City Pier or the waterfront trail.

Renton: Renton’s Fabulous Fourth of July – July 4, 2014, 12-10pm at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park in Renton, WA. The City of Renton invites you to celebrate Independence Day in Renton. Enjoy free children’s activities and face-painting from 12pm-8pm, stage entertainment from 1:30pm-9:30pm, and a professional fireworks display launched from the northwest corner of the Ivar’s Water Walk at 10pm.

Sammamish: Fourth on the Plateau – July 4, 2014, 12-10pm at the Sammamish Commons in Sammamish, WA. Event features a kids’ activities area, food, and live music 6-8pm. Fireworks start at 10pm.

Seattle: Seafair Summer Fourth – July 4, 2014 at Gas Works Park & South Lake Union Park. Noon to 11pm. Various events at the parks, including games, music, contests, beer gardens, Air National Guard display, and more. Fireworks at 10:10pm over Lake Washington.

Seattle: Wallingford Family Parade & Festival — July 5 at 11am – 5pm. This free event in Seattle’s Wallingford Neighborhood (N. 45th St. & Meridian Park), is free to attend. The parade this year starts at 11am, with a theme of “Green Summer Up, featuring the usual marching bands, drill teams, clowns, and firetrucks. The festival follows from from noon to 5pm at Meridian Park (corner of 50th & Meridian). The Festival portion of the day will include local vendors selling handicrafts, booths featuring demonstrations and food vendors. There will also be plenty of activities for kids including bouncy houses and games, two stages of entertainment with local bands and kids’ music groups, and plenty of fun. New this year: Beer, Wine & Bites Tasting Garden (21-and-over-only) from 1pm to 5pm.

Seattle: Admiral 4th of July Kids Parade — July 4 from 10am to 1pm. Admiral/West Seattle, Admiral District (1137 Sunset Ave. S.W., Seattle, WA). This free annual children’s parade on the West side of Seattle, draws hundreds of families for the opportunity to participate by walking in the parade, or ride bicycles or scooters, or be pushed or pulled by stroller or wagon. The parade route travels through North Admiral neighborhoods for about a half-mile, ending at Hamilton Viewpoint Park for games, food and fun activities. No preregistration is needed.

Stevenson: 4th of July Celebration at Rock Creek Park – July 4, 2014 in Stevenson, WA. Live music will start off the evening and food vendors will be onsite to tempt you with goodies. The fireworks will begin at dusk.

Tacoma: Freedom Fair on the Ruston Way Waterfront — July 4th, all day, along the Ruston Way waterfront. Features the usual 4th of July activities, air shows, food, vendors, exhibits, rides. $2-15 suggested donation. Called the South Sound’s biggest annual event, ending with the Northwest’s biggest firework show over Puget Sound. Free parking at Tacoma Dome Station or Tacoma Community College (you can take the Freedom Fair Express Bus to the event).

Tukwila: Family Fourth at Fort Dent Park – July 4, 2014, 4-10pm at Fort Dent Park in Tukwila, WA. Event includes inflatable bouncers and slides, an entertainment stage, and vendors. Fireworks start at 10pm.

Westport: Marina Fourth of July Booming Bay Firework – July 4, 2014. Fireworks start at dusk at the Marina in Westport, WA, Sponsored by the Westport Fire Department.
