November 11, 2011 is Veterans Day, and you’ll find plenty of events around the Bay to honor veterans. Here’s how the San Francisco Bay Area is honoring the men and women who have served our country. The Bay Area will surely have other Veteran’s Day 2011 events, But often they are not very well publicized. If you’d like to share an event, leave a comment below this post.
San Francisco Veteran’s Day Parade: November 11, 2011, 11am. The parade will start at Market Street, then South to the Civic Center area. Parade ends just past the Reviewing Stand at north side of City Hall.
Antioch Veterans Day Parade: November 11, 2011, at 11 am. Parade begins at Second St and L St (in front of Antioch Beede Lumber). Veterans are invited to walk in the parade.
San Jose Veterans Day Parade: November 11, 2011, 12 noon in downtown San Jose. Opening ceramony 11am at Plaza de Cesar Chavez. Mayor Chuck Reed participates in this annual event hosted by The United Veterans Council of Santa Clara County.
Fairfield Veterans Day Commemoration and Parade: November 11, 2011 10am to 3:30pm. Parade at 12:30pm on Texas Street, Great Jones to Jefferson, downtown Fairfield, CA.
Petaluma Veteran’s Day Parade: Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10m, in Downtown Petaluma Music, the parade, antique plane flyovers and more.
Marin County Veterans Day Celebration: November 11, 2011, 9:30am at Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, San Rafael. Free program will begin in the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium with music, military exercises and a brief address. It will continue in front of the World War I, World War II and Korean, Vietnam and Merchant Marine Memorials on the Avenue of the Flags. Refreshments served after the ceremony in the Redwood Foyer.
