Union Street Fantasy of Lights 2012No holiday lights listing would be complete without San Francisco’s Union Street Fantasy of Lights event. The annual Union Street holiday program kicks off a month long celebration of holiday happenings in the city.

“… thousands of twinkling white lights illuminating the Victorian houses along Union Street, transforming it into a magical backdrop where children can meet Santa and the Snow Queen, decorate cupcakes, bring toys for the San Francisco Firefighters’ Toy Program and enjoy jugglers, and live ponies dressed up like reindeer.”

WHAT: The 2012 Union Street Fantasy of Lights is FREE.

WHEN: Saturday, December 1, 2012, 3pm to 7pm.

  • Help decorate the Union Street Gingerbread House from 3-7pm or decorate a cupcake from 3-5pm at Metro Theater, 2055 Union St.
  • See Santa in front of the Metro Theater, 2055 Union Street, at 5:30- 7pm.

WHERE: Union Street, between Van Ness & Steiner, and Fillmore Street, from Union to Lombard, San Francisco, CA.

SAVVY TIP: Get your parking validated by a participating merchant. Parking facilities are located at 2001 Union Plaza Garage, 1910 Union Street Garage (Wells Fargo) and the Lombard Street Garage (enter on Moulton Alley at Webster).
