ABOUT WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL: “Opened in October 2003, this 2,265-seat Frank Gehry masterpiece is now the permanent home of the LA Philharmonic and the LA Master Chorale. Part of the Music Center complex, the exterior is similar to Gehry’s design for the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain with curved panels of stainless steel. The interior features an open platform stage and seating in the round to unite the artists and the audience as one group participating in a singular creative experience. Of particular note are the wooden ceilings, which resemble the sails of a ship and the giant, hand crafted pipe organ.”
